Day 8: 57th Ave and Going Home

We had to check out of our room at noon, so we got packed up. Simon was feeling a little under the weather so we just stayed there until we had to check out and then we went down to the lobby. We checked out and sat around, waiting for the other Stormix employees. About 20 minutes later, Stormix's Lesa and Nicole came down telling us that the others were just waking up since they were out until 5am the night before. We waited around a bit until the others came down and after saying goodbye to just about everyone, we left our luggage with the bellboys and decided to walk down our street, 57th Ave, for a couple hours until we had to get to the airport for our 5pm departure. We first found a place to eat at the Cafe Europa, a bustling little cafe serving salads, soups, and sandwiches. After filling up, we walked down the street some more until we came to 5th Avenue, where we saw many elite designer shops such as Gucci, Bulova, etc. Simon wanted to stop in at the Sharper Image, a store with lots of little toys for him to ogle over. After we left that shop, we headed back for the hotel- stopping in the Body Shop along the way. Simon had fun smelling the soaps and Christine bought some of their new perfume, Mari Mari. We then walked back to the hotel, retrieved our luggage, and took a taxi to LaGuardia Airport. We left LaGuardia with no problems and arrived in Minneapolis Int'l Airport later that night, having to wait about 90 minutes for our next flight. We then took our commuter flight home and got back to Michigan at around 11:30 at night.
